Story
Get to Know Us
My husband has been farming since he was a little boy. His main focus recently is crop farming but he has had several livestock animals like pigs, cows, horses, and chicken. I got into farming as an adult. I ride horses and with my husband’s direction along with several other local farmers.
We purchased this farm in 2020, and we inherited some chickens from the prior owners. We bought cows to provide meat for ourselves and our family, then expanded to additional cows and more chickens available to the public.
The farm we purchased was originally the Pett farm. Our farm name, Good Dog Farms, is kind of a running joke in our family as we have 4 dogs and they have quite a personality. My husband is a crop and hay farmer, in addition to his full-time job, and he provides the majority of our feed for our animals. We rent land and have a few locations as well as the land we own here. We try to make it as sustainable as we can. Each of our animals are like our children so they get the individual care that most large farms cannot offer.
